Fr. Nicholas Azar

Fr. Nicholas Azar arrived on July 1, 2020. As we welcome him to our parish, here is his biography to help us get to know him.

Rev. Nicholas George Azar II was born and raised in the southeastern United States in Atlanta, Georgia. Immediately prior to entering seminary, he was the director of youth ministry at the Cathedral of Christ the King in his hometown, where he led retreats, mission trips, and weekly programs for both teenagers in local area high schools and junior high youth. He worked for over 10 years in corporate America with most of that time spent in Finance and Marketing roles. His last corporate position was head of Finance for SkyTeam Cargo, a joint venture made up of various international airlines. He has business degrees from The University of Georgia in Athens, GA and Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He studied philosophy as a seminarian for two years in Emmitsburg, Maryland at Mount Saint Mary’s University before moving to Rome, Italy to attend the Pontifical North American College. He holds degrees in theology from the Pontificia Università Gregoriana (STB), Pontificià Universita della Santa Croce (STL), and Pontificia Università Lateranense / Accademia Alfonsia (STD). He is on faculty at Holy Spirit Catholic College in Atlanta, GA. He has recently completed post-doctoral coursework at the Congregation for the Clergy in Vatican City as well as courses in moral theology at Pontificia Università S. Tomasso D’Aquino, Angelicum. He enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking and both local and international travel.
